This little studio has been born from my need to make things. I've been at it since I can remember--sewing scrap cloth clothes directly onto my dollies with big pink stitches and baking cakes on days I was home sick from school. I designed and knit my first project when I was 7--a bright blue acrylic sweater for my auntie's poodle, Trinket. It had a huge hole on one side which I quickly pronounced a buttonhole to strap that sweater on that poor little dog (which I did--and he actually wore it!). I wish I had a picture of that!
I'm a much better sewer, baker and knitter now. I look forward to every holiday and birthday as an opportunity to make something special. It's been such a blast to see kids actually like to get a piece of clothing as a gift.
It's amazing what a little handmade can do...
